Meet Jo....
As well as my lifetime career as a qualified and listed Veterinary Nurse I recognised that along with looking after everybody’s animals I also needed to indulge my creative side, so I started making wordcloud pictures as gifts for friends.
It soon became pretty obvious that I would have to brush up on my drawing skills, and it was with rather a lot of surprise that aged 45 after doodling on the phone I discovered that I can draw and paint!
I consider myself very much an accidental artist, self taught and with only my instincts guiding me.
My paintings are usually depicting the natural world around me. I have a free style and love to capture nature in all its whimsical beauty.
But why the puffin?
My wonderful late grandfather Mac was one of the most artistic members of the family, with a great flare for photography and an eye for good composition.
He was an avid bird watcher and took many wonderful nature photographs over the years.
The puffin was his favourite bird and he even named his family dog Puffin!
Ever since I was a young child I was inspired by my grandpop’s artistic eye and so there really was only one choice for my logo!
A puffin it is!
