Flipping heck it’s rainy out there!
Welcome to my studio news, from a very wet and windy Meldreth! ![]() A good friend of mine, and also a talented artist has encouraged me to be more experimental with my backgrounds! It’s important to push yourself creatively, and he is quite right, it lends a certain depth and interest to the piece. It’s so important to take advice and grow as an artist, and I have many people around me who help me do just that.See my new work here ![]() if you haven’t done already I would really appreciate a Facebook like on each product. The top 12 artists get voted on at a huge homeware trade fair and the competition closes next week. The prize for the winner is immense, and the standard so high I’m going to need all the help I can get! 😂 click on the bird on the cushion and he will take you there ! ![]() ![]() We went to great length with almost everyone I know being asked to choose high paper to use for them, and which designs too! I hope you like them, they are luxury but made from sustainable paper and so far the feedback has been excellent! the cards are available for £2.50 each, 3 for £6 or 6 for £10 https://www.accidentalartist.co.uk/store/p41/Greetingscardsmixandmatch6pack.html#/ The competition will be drawn on 16th July! I am hoping to be represented in a few exhibitions over the autumn, and I’m in talks about being stocked in some local businesses too! There are also are secret talks in quiet corners about a little local exhibition of my own! Shhhhh! It’s a secret!! But do look out for news about that! Until next time.... Jo xx

Hello and welcome to my latest newsletter!
I promise you with all my heart that this won’t be a spam-a-thon !, It’s just a nice way to connect with you occasionally! And I do have news..... As I’m sure you’ve noticed , the bespoke wordclouds I once made are slowly being phased out, so please don’t be alarmed when they disappear from my website over the next few weeks. I might be persuaded to do the odd one here or there if you ask nicely though 🤩 There are a couple of reasons for this, the main one being that I’m a creative and now I’ve got going with the painting I can’t stop! Because of this “Enchanted Words” has now become the “Accidental Artist” two words which describe me perfectly! 🙈😂 but the puffin stays..... New! Limited edition Prints! ![]() The prints are A4 in size and limited to 25. they are signed and numbered before sending out to you with free shipping! At only £27.50 this is an affordable way to have a piece of my art in your home Printed to order they take 10 to 14 days for delivery https://www.accidentalartist.co.uk/store/c9/Limited_Edition_Giclee_Prints.html ![]() As my online business grows and grows and after having been to numerous events recently, I have decided that I unfortunately won’t be attending any craft fairs or country shows for the time being. The turnout for these events is usually disappointing , and the pitch prices sometimes astronomical, so I have concluded that for now, at least my time can be better spent painting! What I will be doing however is joining up with local galleries and art societies who hold little exhibitions in local places, so look out for my work there and if you see any, give it a share on social media! I’ll be starting in Royston and Cambridge and seeing where the road takes me from there! ![]() He will be available in the online shop on Monday! PS.. you can see the whole painting on Facebook 🤫 Don’t forget that as my special subscribers you can get 10% off any order by using code NEWSTEN at checkout Thank you so much for your support it means the world to me! I’m so looking forward to taking you with me on this journey and excited to see where it will lead! Every social media share and mention really helps, so thank you for helping me get seen! I have a few other things up my sleeve which I can’t wait to tell you about too so watch this space! See you soon and remember .....keep supporting local! Jo xxx Recently I was commissioned to do an incredibly special word cloud picture for a family in America.
I had been recommended because the piece was going to be a very special one. It was to hang in a nursery, for a newborn baby. I have done quite a few nursery pieces before, so what was it about this one that made it so special? The family in America were adopting a baby and the piece they wanted from me was a picture of the word “family” surrounded by the names of approximately 100 people who were making this adoption possible. I have never been asked to create a picture with such meaning behind it before! Prior to this I had no idea just how many people it takes to bring a new family together. It really does take a village. What wonderful people these all must be, I knew I had to get this one right! I set to work creating a design and communicating with the soon to be new parents on colours, fonts and whose names should be most prominent in the picture. When we were both happy with the design I emailed it over for the family to print at home. I had immediately decided that in this case I was going to pay it forward and they would not be paying for this piece! How could I ?! it was just too special and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. What’s even better is that halfway through the design process, I got an email letting me know that the adoption had been approved and the couple were now the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy. And he is a cracker! This is by far the most meaningful, fun, important commission I have done to date and I enjoyed every single second of it. Please see the photos below of the picture in its rightful place on the wall of a beautiful new nursery in the USA. I am so delighted to have played even such a small part of this journey with you! Congratulations! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and it’s got me thinking about love!.
While society seems to think so, it’s clear to me that not everyone has that super squishy, all encompassing unicorns and rainbow fairytale kind of love. Not all love is heterosexual! Not all love is simple! Not all love is romantic...Not all love is textbook, but still we are constantly bombarded with images and ideas of how love should be. Thankfully the one thing that does seem to be true is that love conquers all, and so these days it’s becoming more generally accepted to break the norm, however still, very sadly there are prejudices within our societies that do not accept people just being people and having the right to pursue love. This is not OK! I was thinking about valentines design ideas, swept away on the commercial expectations of it all, and felt sadly that many people are simply not represented! I put up a really simple post on my Instagram account @enchantedwordclouds and was bombarded with thank you messages from the LGBT🌈 community thanking me for representing them! Is it really that difficult to find alternative valentines ideas to help express your feelings for your loved ones? What if you’re a couple who isn’t all hearts and flowers? who would appreciate an anatomical heart design more than a traditional heart one?! What if you’re a same sex couple? Or gender neutral? Well look no further! At enchanted words we can do anything and we have no prejudice here... so if you’re looking for something but haven’t yet been able to find it then please email me at jo@enchantedwords.co.uk and let me come up with the perfect valentines gift for your significant other... ( or others!) 💑👩❤️👩👨❤️👨 Jo xxx i had a lovely time this week creating some wordclouds for my fellow equestrians!
I truest believe that the #collectivebrain is a powerful thing and so I went onto a local equestrian Facebook page and asked the question.... “If you could describe how your horse makes you feel in one word, what would it be?” The results were really interesting with some fantastic words I hadn’t thought about and I had plenty to work with... A few hours later the designs were ready. I hope you like them! Why enchanted words?Sometimes, just sometimes you need to find the perfect gift. Something special for the person who has everything, or something personal for a special person! I got the idea to start enchanted words when I had been shown a great deal of generosity and love from some people I barely knew. They had opened up their home to me and honestly, no exaggeration, they changed my life. I wanted to thank them in a very personal way for their kindness and so I made them a bespoke word cloud. The silhouette and words chosen were very pertinent and the gift went down an absolute storm, so much so that when I shared it on social media I had numerous people asking me to make them one! And so enchanted words began! I was aware that there were similar products around, but noticed that you couldn’t really choose what you wanted your picture actually to be of! This was a problem for me, I knew what I wanted and ended up making it myself, and so it became the cornerstone of my business.
The difference with my bespoke service is that you are totally in control and can choose everything, literally everything! Words are so powerful, emotion inducing and thoughtful, you can literally floor somebody, make them cry tears of joy and fully express yourself using well chosen words,so I set out to create a company who could spread love amongst friends, family and even strangers ! I think we have something very special here, a true way to express , well, anything! Do send your ideas and suggestions, what design for a bespoke wordcloud would you choose? |
